The last two weeks have flown by,
but they were definitely rest and relaxation for us. Although we were still
very busy and, on the go, it seemed time slowed down, and we got to take in
every minute to its fullest. The kids have really enjoyed spending time with
daddy and vice versa.

Noah started basketball and daddy
was able to catch his second practice and watch his games! Its Noah’s first
year playing basketball and it definitely shows but nothing a little practicing
and one on one coaching can’t fix. But honestly, I don’t think it’s for him. He
is super excited at the beginning and then midway through practice or a game he
gets in a funk or just seems to lose interest in it. Scott also got to attend
Noah’s Parent teacher conference. For being in Kindergarten, Noah is doing
great but as any other five-year-old there are things that need to be worked
on. His teacher even said his social aspect needs to “improve”. Noah is very
social but he’s my child when it comes to this. Her concern was that he’s
making friends for the wrong reason, like liking things or saying things just
because other kids do those things. Like for example he said one day he was
going to go home and play FORTNITE with his Legos! This kid has no idea what
FORTNITE is since we don’t video game in our household. But It’s something we
can work on but overall, he is a happy and healthy kid!

Kynslee started her second
preschool for this school year. The first one just wasn’t what she needed to
excel. And she’ll soon be testing to be a peer student on base at the
preschool, so fingers crossed she gets in. But the plus side of her current
preschool she attends they do weekly parent interaction and Scott has been able
to go to three of them which Kynslee loved. She got to build a graham cracker
gingerbread house with him (well he built, she ate the frosting an sprinkles),
he painted with her for their classroom sign, and he helped her with her show ‘n
tell! But I think the best part for her was attending the father daughter dance
with him. He “picked” her up, gave her a flower and showed her a great time.
Seeing them together you can definitely tell that she is a BIG daddy’s girl.
Dustin is really enjoying time
with daddy. Since daddy has been home, Dustin is hitting all his milestones and
then some. He has started sitting up by himself, scooting and rolling over,
started teething which I won’t be surprised if there are teeth showing here
pretty soon, and he is even trying to conquer crawling but he’s showing more
signs that he wants to walk then crawl. Lol. Dustin has his six months well
checkup coming up soon. YES, HIS 6 MONTH CHECKUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where
the heck has time gone. And daddy actually gets to attend and be there for the
shots because my little heart hates when my babies are in pain. But otherwise
not too much is going on with him.

As for our family we have enjoyed
our movie and popcorn nights. We’ve managed to watch hotel Transylvania 3,
Incredibles 2, Escape from Planet Earth, The Aristocats, and the Emoji Movie
but the list keeps growing of what we want to watch. We have also enjoyed our
bowling nights which is great because it gets us all out of the house, and
everyone has a great time. Kynslee is miss bowler so she feels like she needs
no help when moving the ball to the lane and rolling it down. She always says
“I got my powers mommy” meaning her muscles lol. Noah is Mr. Show off even if
he only hits one pin. The weather has been really great the last two weeks, so
the kids have been outside playing and we recently started walking and the kids
have been riding/learning to ride their bikes. Kynslee has barely learned and
she is doing a Rockstar job on it. Maybe both kids will be off training wheels
by summer, but who knows.
We had big travel plans for when Scott got home but after getting home, we
decided we would postpone our big trip. A 14-hour car ride with Dustin wasn’t suitable
because he recently started boycotting his car seat. And Scott did a lot of
traveling during his deployment and when I mean a lot I mean like every other
month and they would be long flights. So, staying at home was the best option
for us right now! (SO if anyone needs some LEGOLAND shirts in sizes SM, 5t, and
6 months I got you covered lol).
As for Scott and I, our alone
time is usually 630pm-8pm when we sit and watch Netflix before we are both
falling asleep. Maybe one day I’ll have some real alone time with him lol but It’s
hard when you aren’t around family to watch your littles so you can enjoy a
vacation or date night occasionally with your spouse, but we will get there.
But for now, watching idiotest or some sort of game show on Netflix will have
to suffice. But it’s great to say we are finally back to our normal and can
continue to do some amazing things with our sweet family of five.
With Love,
Ashleigh
